Xiaomi has grown to become an emerging force in the tech and smartphone industry in India, and the company is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon with the launching of its first-ever specialty store in the South Asian country.

The Chinese tech and phone manufacturer on Thursday opened its first Mi Home Experience Store in India. The store, which is located at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall in Chennai, is the 25th Mi Home store opened by Xiaomi in the country, as it aims to reach a total of 100 stores this year, Gadgets360 reported.

"Think of this as a flagship Mi Home, where we will show not just the products that we have already launched in India, but also the ones that we want to bring to the market," said Global Vice President and Managing Director India Manu Kumar Jain during the store's launch last Wednesday. Moreover, the Experience Store is divided into three parts, with the first showcasing products like the Mi Robot Builder and the Ninebot Plus, among others.

Meanwhile, the second part will feature Xiaomi's different phones, as well as other interesting products like Mi Air Purifier. Lastly, the third part will carry the company's products that have not yet been launched in India. These include rice cookers, water purifiers, and laptops, to name a few.

"Most people think of Xiaomi as only a phone brand, but actually there are a host of products that we have that are not being sold in India," added Jain. "We have a portable air purifier that you can take in a car, smart scooters, laptops, robot vacuum cleaners, our electric toothbrush, and more," he continued. In addition, Digit India also noted that Xiaomi is looking to launch two more Mi Home Experience Stores in two other Indian cities, namely, in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Some of the most recent Xiaomi releases in India include the Redmi Note 5, the Note 5 Pro, and the Mi Smart LED TV 4. With the Mi Home Experience Store already up, the Indian market can expect to see more and more offerings from Xiaomi in the coming months and beyond.
