There have been a lot of talk surrounding the iPhone X's notch, with some quarters and observers seeing it as an eyesore. After an alleged image of the Oppo R15 that featured a notch, Oppo finally confirmed all rumors that the upcoming device will indeed carry the controversial feature.
Oppo has revealed the R15 and the R15 Plus, and the phones' image confirmed the presence of the notch. The products' official page also confirmed that the R15 will feature a 6.28-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, and slim bezels.
Interestingly, ChannelNews noted that Oppo is marketing the R15 and R15 Plus as perfect options for phone users who love watching a lot of movies and videos using their devices. The Chinese phone maker is harking on the 90 percent screen to body ratio of the R15, which is built for an improved viewing experience.
Meanwhile, a report from FoneArena noted that the R15 has been certified by the TENAA, China's FTC equivalent. The TENAA gave the device the model numbers PACM00 and PACT00, revealing its specs. Moreover, the device is also rumored to feature an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 chipset, (Quad 2.2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs) with an Adreno 512 GPU. It will also likely come with 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, and up to 256 GB of expandable storage memory via microSD.
The Oppo R15 is also expected to run on the Android 8.1 (Oreo) with ColorOS. As for the camera, the device sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, a secondary 5-megapixel camera, and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. Much like the other flagship smartphones of other companies, the Oppo R15 will also come with a fingerprint sensor.
In addition, it will be powered by a 3365mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charging, and users will get to choose from three colors, namely, White, Black, and Blue.
The Oppo R15 and R15 Plus will be released later this month.
